Team Work to Take Care of Your Gums

The doctors, along with their dental hygienists will work together as a team to improve and maintain the health of your gums. They will examine your gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth and will record any signs of disease, i.e. bleeding, redness, and puffiness, bone loss, infection, gum recession, and tooth mobility. The findings will be assessed by Dr. Basseri, who with the help of the xrays will arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan. The treatment might be a simple cleaning of the teeth, to remove plaque and tartar, or it might involve periodontal therapy which requires more than one session. After the treatment is completed the patient is reevaluated by the hygienist and the doctor. According to the findings they are either placed on a maintenance program or are referred to a periodontist for further treatment.
